Anastrozole works by blocking the conversion of androgens into estrogens. It is commonly included in protocols where estrogen modulation is clinically indicated. Originally developed for use in postmenopausal women with hormone receptor-positive breast cancer, anastrozole may also be prescribed in other contexts where managing estrogen levels is a therapeutic goal.
